Madrid Highlights Diversity and Coexistence

A notable gathering in Madrid welcomed faith communities, cultural voices and social actors to reflect on the World Day for Cultural Diversity. The event, organised by Fundación Mejora at the national headquarters of Scientology in Madrid, highlighted dialogue, tolerance and mutual understanding. The meeting included Clarisa Nieva of the Bahá’í Community of Spain, Fernando Hernández of Human Rights the Madrid Municipal Police Diversity Management Unit, flamenco artist Tito Losada, and human rights educator Denise González. Speakers shared different experiences and viewpoints on how mutual knowledge can help build more inclusive communities.

Throughout the gathering, participants addressed themes such as tolerance, social cohesion and the prevention of discrimination. Fundación Mejora connected the initiative with Scientology’s emphasis on ethical values and community improvement. Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to European and international institutions, emphasised that cultural and religious diversity can become a strength when rooted in respect for human rights.
